Abiding by the terms established by the Provider allows you, the User, to freely access e-resources while within the university campus.
In the case of inappropriate use by the User, i.e. if the terms of an e-resource are violated, access to this service from the entire campus of Yamaguchi University may be suspended by the Provider.
Before using any e-resources on this website, please be aware of the list of forbidden activities below.

Prohibited Activities

  • Downloading, copying, saving and printing documents for purposes other than personal study and research
  • Downloading a large amount of articles in a short period of time
  • Downloading volumes of only one particular journal in great quantity
*“Downloading” includes opening and displaying PDF files and HTML web pages.
  • Automatically downloading documents by using a software program
  • Copying or altering a downloaded file (such as an article), and distributing and/or selling a downloaded file to a third party.

Notes on Downloading

In addition to saving files to a computer or USB memory stick, opening and displaying PDF files and HTML pages is also considered as “downloading”.
You are judged to be repeatedly downloading a file every time you click on it, and clicking on a file too many times may be seen as downloading a large amount of articles within a short amount of time. Therefore, please do not excessively click on a download link.

When you want to download an article, you are advised to:
  • Check the abstract.
  • Only download the articles that you need whenever you use this service.

If you are not sure whether you are using an e-resource properly or not, please ask library staff.
