We give a simple neural network consisting of many excitatory elements (excitatory layer) and an inhibitory element, and reveal some basic properties of this model for further study. We derive an equation of wave form which represents the response of the excitatory layer for a moving stimulus. Simultaneously we consider the effect of an excitatory weight function of the wave form. Then the validity of the equation giving the wave form is examined through a computer simulated-experiment.
