Recently the authors have tried some experiments on electromotiveforce by micro-organisms. Several kinds of micro-organisms are grown in nutrient media and the chemical action of their vital processes is utilized to develop electrical energy in a manner parallel to the production of electromotiveforce by means of the ordinary galvanic cell.
