内燃機関の機関性能と音響特性を関連づけて総括的に研究した文献は少ない.筆者らは各種の機関についてその総合的な調査を実施しているが, 本報では, その第1報として, 排気音と機関性能との関連について行なった二三の実験と, その総合特性の整理の一方法として正味平均有効圧力-回転数線図で表示した場合の例を示した.また, 負荷を変化した場合における排気音, 吸気音, 弁部騒音, クランク室騒音, ギヤボックス騒音などの騒音特性について述べた.
