BJ-CAT コンピュータ適応型ビジネス日本語テスト（Business Japanese Computerized Adaptive Test, 以下BJ-CAT）の研究開発を行っている。本テストは，ビジネス場面でのコミュニケーション能力を測るテストであり，インターネットで配信を行う計画である。
日本企業への就職を希望する留学生や日本企業で働く外国人就業者のビジネス日本語能力をいつでもどこでも測ることができ，就職や企業内研修などに役立てられると考える。本稿では，BJ-CAT ビジネス日本語テストの構築過程について報告を行う。
