On the Effect of Silica contained in Carbonized Rice. Hull on the Growth of Rice Seedlings.

The effect of carbonized rice hull,as a supplying source of silica on the growth of rice seedlings was studied, and the following results were obtained. 1.From the pot tests and field experiments,the application of carbonized rice hull was shown to increase greatly the silica content of rice seedlings. 2.The silica in carbonized rice hull was absorbed better by rice seedlings than the silica in the ash of rice hull. 3.The results of the determination of silica content of the rice seedlings gathered from the seed beds of farmers showed that the application of carbonized rice hull increased the silica content of young rice plants.
