Most of the Mesozoic igneous rocks of the area between Masuda and Matsuyama, Southwest Japan are composed of Cretaceous to early Tertiary volcanic and plutonic rocks, excepting the thin intercalations of acidic to basic tuffs in the Triassic Kuga Group.
