Clinical indication of liver transplantation for the adult patients admitted to our hospital (201 cases) was studied, based on the Japanese standards of indication for liver transplantation published by the society for the study of indication of liver transplantation on May 27 in 1991. The validity of the Japanese standards was further tested by a follow-up study. In our cases, indication rate of liver transplantation in acute heaptic failure was 10.0%
