Several prescriptions of culture media for Bacillus aneurinolyticus were examined in order to reap a good harvest of antibiotics. Semi-synthetic culture medium including casamino acid (1.0%) and ammonium sulfate (0.2%), which possesses a desired effect equivalent to nutrient broth, was devised. From this result, a key to the prescription of the complete synthetic medium for the bacillus was expected.
